What do you do with the kids in Cornwall, when it’s pooring with rain, and inside ‘fun’ spaces (also know as parent savers) are closed due to Covid-19?!
We are massive fans of muddy puddles, not just the clothing brand (but the clothing brand does make it more bearable!) I am a firm believer that it’s ‘not too wet’ you are just ‘wearing the wrong clothes’! As an added bonus, all of our accommodation have washing machines, and the Snug and The Old Post Office have a washer dryer.
Below are a few ideas on what to do both indoor and outdoor, depending on how much you like muddy puddles!
1. Tehidy Country Park

Great places to walk and not get too soaked as you can wonder under the trees. There are a few different areas to park. The main car park has a great cafe and from there, there is a great little loop walk around the lakes, where you can feed the ducks, angry swans and the super friendly squirrels. Just remember to take your mouldy bread and monkey nuts! The walk around the lakes is a nature reserve, so dogs are not allowed, however the rest of Tehidy (which is pretty extensive) is very dog friendly – cafe included. Great for walking with a buggy too!
2. Blue Reef Aquarium (Newquay)

Its a bit of a drive (35-40 minutes) but well worth the trip, book your tickets online to avoid disappointment, due to new Covid-19 restrictions. It’s not the cheapest day out but you will spend a full day up there. Note for dads (or mums) why not offer to take the kids so your wife can have a lovely day looking around the shops in Newquay?! Just an idea – please can someone tell my husband?!
